California Hoptree naturally grows in chaparral and woodlands habitats. Known for its dense foliage, with glossy, deep green leaves, California Hoptree makes a great hedge or privacy screen.California Hoptree is typically an understory plant, so does best in partial sun with minimal irrigation. In the spring, many clusters of fragrant cream-colored flowers appear, attracting butterflies and native bees.
